What Is Mirror Stainless Steel Sheet?

How Mirror Finish Is Made

The polishing process follows these stages:

Coarse grinding — remove the 2B mill finish scratches with abrasive belts

Fine grinding — progressively finer grits to reduce roughness

Buffing — felt or cotton wheels with polishing compound bring the surface to reflective quality

Quality check — inspect under angled light for orange peel, waviness or visible scratches

Higher-grade mirror (super mirror) adds additional buffing stages for near-perfect reflection. The more polishing passes, the flatter and more accurate the reflection — but the higher the cost.

Common Mistakes

Using mirror on a large touch wall. Fingerprints and smudges show immediately. Reserve mirror for low-touch zones.

Ignoring reflection distortion. Thin panels can warp under installation, producing wavy reflections. Specify 0.8 mm or thicker for large wall panels.
